Delete your account & data

Use this page to permanently delete your Barter9ja account and everything associated with it. You can also do this from the app under Menu → Deactivate account.

What gets deleted

When the deletion completes, the following are permanently removed from our systems:

Your profile — name, email, photo, location, bio and rating
All your item listings and saved posts
Every trade offer and swap appointment you sent or received
Your chat conversations and messages
Reviews you wrote and reviews written about you
Your KYC verification records, including submitted ID details and images
Reports you filed, blocked-user lists and notifications
Login sessions, refresh tokens and one-time passcodes

30-day grace period. Your account is disabled immediately and stops being visible to other users. Your data is then held for 30 days before it is permanently and irreversibly erased. Changed your mind? Just log back into the Barter9ja app with the same email and password before the 30 days are up and your account is restored in full.

What we keep. Records we are legally required to retain — such as fraud-prevention and anti-money-laundering logs — are held for as long as Nigerian law requires, then deleted. These are never used to re-identify you or to contact you.

Confirm it's you

Enter the email and password you use for Barter9ja. We ask for your password so nobody else can delete your account.

Your account has been deactivated

You have been signed out everywhere and your profile is no longer visible to other users. All of your data will be permanently deleted on:

To cancel, log back into the Barter9ja app with the same email and password before that date.

Having trouble? Email contact@barter9ja.com from your registered address and we'll delete your account for you within 30 days.
